Oh Allah, Colour me White!

White signifies purity and chastity. White reminds one of peace and calm. White flowers and flags imply friendship and harmony. White when worn to visit the house of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala signify unity, equality, brotherhood and uniformity. On the other hand white is the colour that we will be dressed in, when we leave this world. That shroud which will be our last attire before we meet our Rabb is going to be neat, tidy and white too. White colour therefore could give glad tidings when one embarks upon the journey to perform the much awaited pilgrimage or could be dreaded if related to the final journey of one’s life.

The question is, why dread death when it is a means of meeting our most beloved Lord? The meeting with the One Who loves us the most must in fact be the most awaited one. The answer is simple, most of us do not look forward to wearing our pure, neat and destined final white attire because we doubt the quantity and quality of our good deeds and slacken every now and then in submitting to the Will of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. So what to do?

Let’s renew our intentions and start afresh today. Let’s not waste our efforts of Ramadan and continue to make amends. Let’s beg Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala for His Mercy, forgiveness and peace at the time we are departing from this world. Let’s pray that our accounts are washed by our tears of repentance and are as white and pure as can be, to enable us to show radiant, glowing and happy faces to our Rabb. In Shaa Allah
